A LONG HOT WINTER is a feature film script that I wrote sometime around the middle of 2014.  I wanted to make a story that was compelling, quiet, meditative and easy to film.  For these reasons, I decided to restrict myself to a single location and two main characters.  As I wrote, I found that the characters became so strong that they began to take control of the story - to deviate from my treatment - and take on a life of their own.  Each day of writing became a delightful challenge to see what Charlie or Sandy were going to do that day.

LHW became so important to me because it is an honest story with honest characters who struggle with identity, creativity, spiritual & professional aspiration and relationships.  These are themes you can find at the heart of any great story and I count myself lucky that these characters appeared to me and I was able to transcribe at least some of their total lives.

In September, my wife and I enlisted the help of a few friends - including DoP Jason Oldak and Production Designer Lauren Meyer.  We went to the desert where the film is set and captured footage that became the teaser trailer below.  Musician/Poet Jeremy Bass contributed the score after seeing some of the footage.

Right now, we need help to make this movie.  If you think you want to get involved in any way, please contact me through the "contact" link at the top of this page.  Whatever you might decide to do, thank you for taking the time to read this blurb and to watch the teaser.

Have a great day!
